The Theatre School at DePaul University - BFA Interviews

An interview is required to be considered for admission to any of Theatre School's design/technology or theatre studies majors. Click on the calendar at the bottom of this page to view available dates and to register for your interview.

You will interview one-on-one with a faculty member from the department to which you are applying. We believe that during the interview, the questions you have for us are as important as the questions we have for you. There is no fixed format or schedule of questions for the interview, so you will be evaluated as an individual by an individual. The faculty member who conducts the interview will be interested in your theatre experiences, academic record, personal achievements, extracurricular activities, and plans for your artistic future. The best preparation for the interview is to read about your intended major and be curious: come with plenty of questions about courses, instructors, student life and anything else you would like to discuss.

On-Campus Interview Days (9am-2pm)
On-campus interview days begin with a faculty-led information session at 9am. Individual interview times are assigned after check-in, so you must be available to stay as late as 2pm. Current students and our admissions staff are available throughout the day to answer questions and provide tours, making our on-campus interview days a great way to get to know The Theatre School while you complete your interview.

Regional Interviews (Hourly)
Regional interviews are scheduled in one hour blocks. Please choose the time that works best for you and arrive 15 minutes early for check-in. Information about the location of each regional interview is available by clicking on the calendar dates below and is sent in reminder emails prior to the event.

Phone, Skype, Facetime, or In-Person Custom Interviews
If possible, we encourage you to interview on one of the interview days offered through the registration calendar. However, applicants unable to make these dates may request a custom interview through our online request formYour application must be 100% complete (all application materials received) before you can submit the request form; the latest the form can be submitted is February 7. Custom interviews will generally not be scheduled past February 15, the last interview day.
